What is A Family Resource
Centre?
The FAMILY is society’s most
valuable institution. The family unit as a whole needs to become
involved and supported, and it is through Family Resource Centre’s
that such a holistic approach can be met. A Family Resource
Centre provides Prevention focussed programs, Early Learning
Programs, offers Educational opportunities for Parents and caregivers,
has print resources available, provides support, links families
to other existing agencies and most of all is non threatening
in nature.
At the Estevan Family Resource Centre we have a vision with
the COMMUNITY in mind. We believe that the health of our children
and their families is directly connected to the health of our
COMMUNITY. We believe in a Centre that welcomes all members
of a COMMUNITY to a warm, friendly, supportive and comfortable
environment where families can play together, meet new friends,
gain new skills and share ideas.
The Estevan Family Resource Centre provides the COMMUNITY of
Estevan with the kind of facility that Estevan is lacking. That
is a place where people young and old, single or married, financially
secure or those with fewer resources available, can share and
enjoy programming and activities, both recreational and educational.
The Estevan Family Resource Centre provides a place for fun
and enjoyment, education and resources. Most of all, it is a
COMMUNITY Resource Centre, a place where residents of Estevan
and surrounding areas can connect and reconnect, with traditional
values of friendship and family. Which are the foundations of
a COMMUNITY. Healthy families work together to shape healthy
COMMUNITIES. The Estevan Family Centre recognizes the strengths
and abilities of all Estevan residents that seek to harness
the energy of our vibrant COMMUNITY.
