The Estevan Family Resource Centre has a Family Educator/Crisis Counsellor on staff who offers support services and assistance to children, youth, adults, seniors; no individual or situation is turned away. The counsellor utilizes a brief solution-focused approach with the goal of the crisis being resolved within 6 sessions. If further support is required, appropriate referrals will be made and sessions will be continued until the referral source is able to accommodate services. The services provided are but not limited to include the interventions and support listed below.

Not sure about the supports you need? Are you uncertain what questions to ask? Are you nervous dealing with other agencies? Don't worry, our counsellor can help you every step of the way, and even accompany you to other appointments if that's what you need.
Our counsellor responds quickly to client needs. When someone is referred, or contacts the Centre for services, initial contact is made within 24 - 48 hours. Clients can usually get an appointment in person within the same week. There is no wait list.
Our counsellor offers various support group programming on an as-needed basis. This can include parenting, prenatal and postpartum groups, anxiety management, self-care, and a host of other learning opportunities.
INFORMATION, EDUCATION & REFERRALS
The counsellor strives to connect individuals and families with appropriate longer-term supports when needed. Sessions always continue until clients are connected and satisfied with the services they are receiving.

HOW MUCH DOES COUNSELLING COST?
NOTHING. Like all core programming offered at the Family Centre, counselling services are free and accessible to everyone.
IS COUNSELLING PRIVATE?
ABSOLUTELY. The counsellor adheres to a very strict code of confidentiality. Only under very specific circumstances will information be shared, and you will be fully informed beforehand.
